A method of producing hybrids of spinach

, : A method of producing hybrids of spinach. Maxon Smith, J W : Proceedings, Eucarpia meeting on leafy vegetables, Littlehampton, 11-14 March 1980: 126-131

For hybrid production in which male plants are removed from a diecious seed parent population before flowering and the female plants are then pollinated by monecious parents, 13 of 34 cultivars tested in four experiments gave less than 3% of monecious plants and therefore were of value as seed parents.
