The germination of sugar maple seeds stratified at 3-4 deg C on germination paper in plastic boxes was compared with that of seeds stratified on paper towels wrapped in aluminium foil. Time to 95% germination (from the beginning of germination) in aluminium foil was 18 days, significantly shorter than that in plastic boxes (46 days).Other references
