Samples of N. lutea were collected from 7 sites at intervals of 300 m near a copper purification and processing plant. High levels of Cu were found in the leaves and petioles of N. lutea but in the below ground organs concns. were surprisingly low. Accumulation of Cu in the plants was clearly proportional to copper levels in corresponding surface sediments.
