An EPR spectroscopic examination of heavy metals in humic and fulvic acid soil fractions

, : An EPR spectroscopic examination of heavy metals in humic and fulvic acid soil fractions. Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta 45(3): 481-487

Electron paramagnetic spectra of humic acid and various fractions of fulvic acid from a deep peat soil were studied and related to some of the metals present. In fulvic acid, VO2+ occurred in complexed form. The Mn2+ components all had a high degree of ionicity. In the humic acid fraction Cu2+ was present as a copper porphyrin-type complex.
