Canopy structure in crops and its models

, : Canopy structure in crops and its models. Bulletin of the National Institute of Agricultural Science, D (31): 127-202

Canopy structure was investigated using 3 methods in sunflower, wheat, barley, rape and 2 of maize. Crop canopies were divided into those with max. density in the upper, middle or lower layers. Leaf area distributions were compared and the distributions for various crops classified into 5 groups. Canopy structure was compared in sunflower and barley grown in the field at 3 densities or in pots at 3 different densities with the pots arranged to give a dense or sparse distribution.
