Changes of nucleic acids and silk protein contents in the posterior silk gland of the Eri-silkworm Philosamia cynthia ricini during the fifth larval instar

, : Changes of nucleic acids and silk protein contents in the posterior silk gland of the Eri-silkworm Philosamia cynthia ricini during the fifth larval instar. Acta Entomologica Sinica 24(4): 349-355

Laboratory studies were carried out in China on changes in the contents of nucleic acids and silk protein in the posterior silk gland of the silkworm Samia cynthia ricini (Boisd.) (Philosamia cynthia ricini) during the 5th larval instar. Before fibroin synthesis, the amounts of DNA, RNA and tRNA gradually increased until the beginning of spinning.
