, : Cultivation of fodder crops on saline soils. Sel' skoe Khozyaistvo Moldavii (9): 22-23

Reclamation of saline soils in Moldavia by drainage, 40-50 cm deep tillage, applying 18-35 t gypsum and 40-60 t FYM/ha, excessive irrigations and growing salt-tolerant spp. is described. Lucerne and fodder beet gave fresh fodder/root yields of 39.5 and 98 t/ha, resp. on the reclaimed meadow soils.
