Dynamics of endogenous growth regulators and their role in determining the sowing quality of wheat seeds

, : Dynamics of endogenous growth regulators and their role in determining the sowing quality of wheat seeds. Sibirskii Vestnik Sel' skokhozyaistvennoi Nauki 54(6): 23-26, 112

Spring wheat in W. Siberia was sown on 8, 15 or 29 May 1975 and 14, 21 or 28 May 1976. Grain samples were taken 25-45 days after flowering (milk-ripe to fully mature) and the content and activity of endogenous growth regulators and the sowing quality of the seeds were determined. Under similar weather conditions during ripening, the content of growth-stimulating substances in the seeds fell with age, and germination energy and capability rose.
