Ecological features of fish population in the River Yao-jiang, with a discussion on fish-producing capacity of the river

, : Ecological features of fish population in the River Yao-jiang, with a discussion on fish-producing capacity of the river. Acta Hydrobiologica Sinica 6(4): 393-408

From a survey of the fisheries and biology of the Yao-jiang River, Zhejiang Province, China, it was found that there were 58 species of fish and that owing to stocking the fish population was semi-artificial. Dams had been constructed and the river now had some of the characteristics of a reservoir. The new conditions, especially the richness in plankton, favoured development of fresh-water fishery.
