Field experiments were conducted to determine the effects of 4 N fertilizer levels (0, 45 90 or 180 kg/ha) on 6 wheat mutants developed through gamma-ray irradiation. Grain protein content was affected in a highly significant manner by N, although responses were not consistent in all mutants, which tended, however, to maintain the magnitude of the original protein differences. Increasing N levels significantly increased number of ears/m2, number of grains/ear and yield.
