Environmental and developmental effects on isoenzymes in a tetraploid hybrid ryegrass

, : Environmental and developmental effects on isoenzymes in a tetraploid hybrid ryegrass. Zeitschrift fur Pflanzenzuchtung 85(1): 53-58

Isoenzyme expression at the tetraallelic phosphoglucoisomerase locus, PGI2, was similar in early and late summer samplings of Bb1237, an allotetraploid hybrid between Lolium multiflorum and L. perenne. Thus, it is unlikely that the variety's midsummer change from an L. multiflorum to an L. perenne phenotype is accompanied by modified gene expression at the biochemical level.
