One group of 50 piglets received 200 ppm Tiamulin with the starter meal for ten days, and a placebo with the finishing ration. One other group of 50 received only placebo with the starter meal and Tiamulin with the finishing ration; a third group also received Tiamulin with the finishing meal, but after a standard treatment to prevent enzootic pneumonia was given in the starter period. A fourth group received this standard treatment in the starter period, with ronidazole, but no Tiamulin.
