Parvovirus was detected in the faeces of 111 dogs with diarrhoea examined at the Giessen Veterinary Clinic between January and May 1980. Coronavirus was found in another 9 dogs, and mixed parvo- and coronavirus infections in 4 others. The enteritic form of parvovirus infection occurred in dogs between 7 weeks and 12 years old, with 63% of cases being 7-20 weeks old. Clinical forms of enteritis were mild (30%), very acute (63%) and peracute (7%).
