Experimental studies on localization of the nerve centres of the mammary gland in the cow

, : Experimental studies on localization of the nerve centres of the mammary gland in the cow. Annales Universitatis Mariae Curie Sklodowska, Sectio DD 1981; 34: 47-60

Of six cows aged 5-8 years two had the mammary gland totally removed, two had an unilateral gland extirpation, and the remaining two with skin incisions were controls. The cows were slaughtered 21 days after surgery for histological examination of brain stem, thoracic lumbar and sacral segments of the spinal cord with corresponding spinal and autonomic ganglia, and the abdominal and pelvic plexuses and ganglia.
