Genic content and structure of abnormal chromosome 10

, : Genic content and structure of abnormal chromosome 10. Maize Genetics Cooperation News Letter (54): 8-12

Eleven deficient (Df) abnormal chromosomes (K10) obtained from dicentric bridge breakages were investigated. Cytogenetic data indicate that W2 and Sr2 are in the extra chromosome segment, at the end of the long arm, which characterizes K10 and is lacking in normal chromosome 10 (N10). The reduced recombination between R and Sr2 in K10/N10 heterozygotes would be explained by the transposition of the terminal portion of 10L in K10.
