In vitro culture of somatic tissues of sugarcane

, : In vitro culture of somatic tissues of sugarcane. Agromonie Tropicale 36(3): 266-278

Leaf explants of sugarcane formed callus, shoots and roots on Murashige and Skoog media, the type of tissue generated being affected by the growth substances used, in most cases 2,4-D and/or NAA. When sections were cut from the leaf bundle at various distances above the shoot apex, most shoot buds were formed on sections 4-8 cm above the apex.
