Investigation of the dynamic load condition of crankshafts of diesel engines by means of photosensor elements

, : Investigation of the dynamic load condition of crankshafts of diesel engines by means of photosensor elements. Traktory i Sel' khozmashiny (4): 11-12

The torsional oscillations of crankshafts are generally measured with torsiographs (torquemeters) with strain gauge and inductive sensors. These have many advantages, but errors arise in the quantitative evaluation of the torsional oscillations because of the perception by the gauges of bending strains of the shaft and distortion of the signal due to the physical properties of the inductive transducers at high frequencies of oscillation.
