Isolation of an egg-adapted infectious bronchitis virus causing a nephrosis-nephritis syndrome in chickens

, : Isolation of an egg-adapted infectious bronchitis virus causing a nephrosis-nephritis syndrome in chickens. Kajian Veterinar 12(1/2): 1-8

A virus, probably originating from infectious bronchitis live vaccine, was isolated from broiler fowls showing respiratory signs and having a mortality rate of up to 40%. A nephrosis-nephritis syndrome was observed in all birds examined. This syndrome was experimentally reproduced by inoculation (nasal and ocular routes) of 0.5 ml of allantoic fluid containing the virus into 11 days old and 7 weeks old birds.
