Japanese beetle lures

, : Japanese beetle lures. Agricultural Research, USA 30(5): 14-15

Field studies carried out in Ohio by M. G. Klein and T. L. Ladd showed that traps baited with both 2-phenylethyl propanoate (PEP), a synthetic compound similar to a chemical produced by grapes, and the synthetic female sex attractant (R,Z)-5-(1-decenyl)dihydro-2(3H)-furanone (Japonilure) were more effective in catching adults of Popillia japonica Newm.
