Methods of field survey for the bionomics of trombiculid mites. I. Measurements of temperature and relative humidity in microspace and in soil

, : Methods of field survey for the bionomics of trombiculid mites. I. Measurements of temperature and relative humidity in microspace and in soil. Guangdong Jishengchong Xuehui Nianbaorecd 1982; 2: 89, 170-171

Data obtained form a field survey on the bionomics of Trombiculidae indicated that the combined use of a micro-electro-thermometer with an accuracy of plus or minus 0.05 deg C, a moisture meter (LFM I) with a hand electrode 2 cm in diameter, with an accuracy of plus or minus 0.5%, and an electronic moisture meter (LG) with a stab electrode head (needle length 32.5 cm, accuracy plus or minus 0.1%) could effectively measure temperature and relative humidity in the soil at a depth of less than 32 cm.
