Mycotic infections in captive wild mammals and birds: some considerations on epizootiology, pathology and prophylaxis

, : Mycotic infections in captive wild mammals and birds: some considerations on epizootiology, pathology and prophylaxis. The comparative pathology of zoo animals: 277

Necropsies were conducted on 14 147 captive mammals and birds at a zoological garden in Antwerp during a period of 18 yr and 474 cases of mycosis were found (4 involving mammals, 470 involving birds). Infections by Aspergillus spp. were a serious disease of birds and penguins from Antarctica were particularly susceptible.
