A case of concomitant Candida and herpes simplex oesophagitis is reported in a 15-yr-old asthmatic boy who had been maintained on inhaled beclomethasone for approx. 15 months. Cultures of biopsy specimens obtained during oesophagoscopy grew C. and herpes simplex virus.
