, : Pigeon pea (Cajanus cajan L.) as forage and grain crop. Agronomy Abstracts 72nd annual meeting, American Society of Agronomy: 96

10 forage and 9 grain or lines of pigeon pea were evaluated in 1979. Av. DM yields were 6.3 and 5.4 t/ha when cut at 50 and 25 cm ht., resp. Av. IVDOM was 48% for the 1st 2 cuts and 57% for the 3rd cut. Av. CP content was 22% for all cuts. Av. grain yields were 1.69, 1.75 and 1.33 t/ha for grain sown on 24 May, 22 June and 19 July, resp. Plants sown on 19 July were mostly killed by frost before the seeds matured.
