Predicting succeeding complete lactation from part records of a preceding lactation

, : Predicting succeeding complete lactation from part records of a preceding lactation. Indian Journal of Animal Sciences 50(1): 11-15

Prediction factors were developed by least squares analysis of 509 pairs of preceding and succeeding lactation records adjusted for parity, period and season of calving. Best months for predicting the succeeding complete lactation record were 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th cumulative monthly records, the accuracy of predicting the subsequent total record ranging between 0.53 and 0.58.
