Quantitative methods in prolactin-receptor research

, : Quantitative methods in prolactin-receptor research. Dissertation Abstracts International, B 40(9): 4154

In the lactoperoxidase-catalysed iodination of prolactin (PRL), when the molar ratio of I to PRL was less than or equal to 5, both the rate of decrease and the absolute decrease in tryptophan fluorescence (maximally 40%) varied directly in response to the initial I concn. At higher initial I concn., only small additional fluorescence decreases occured (maximally 54% at a molar ratio of 50:1). Iodinated PRL had a fluorescence 33% less than native PRL.
