Research on the effective use of energy in modern agriculture

, : Research on the effective use of energy in modern agriculture. Internationale Zeitschrift der Landwirtschaft (3): 223-226

Although agriculture accounts for only a small proportion of Hungary's energy use there are still possibilities of saving. During the industrialization of farming methods in 1960-1980 energy consumption in the economy as a whole doubled, that of the food industry trebled and that of the farm sector increased fourfold, agriculture's share of total consumption rising from 3.7% to 7.3%.
