Simulating the impact of alternative food reserve programs: the ASEAN case

, : Simulating the impact of alternative food reserve programs: the ASEAN case. Journal of Rural Development, Korea 3(1): 83-101

The article discusses the reasons for ASEAN countries to maintain reasonable levels of reserve stocks of food grains, and the need for effective security reserve guidelines. It presents a methodology for testing alternative security reserve programmes based on historical patterns of food grain production, international trade and utilization as they have existed in each nation over the past 18 years.
