Studies of purothionin homologs from two diploid wheat relatives

, : Studies of purothionin homologs from two diploid wheat relatives. Cereal Foods World 26(9): 499

Peptide elution patterns obtained with high-performance liquid chromatography and the amino acid compositions of the peptides were studied in Aegilops squarrosa and Triticum urartu and compared with those of the alpha 1, alpha 2 and beta -purothionins of T. aestivum. The proteins from Ae. squarrosa and T. urartu were similar or identical to the alpha 2 and beta -purothionins, respectively.
