Studies on green manuring of rice in double cropping system in a partially reclaimed saline sodic soil

, : Studies on green manuring of rice in double cropping system in a partially reclaimed saline sodic soil. Indian Journal of Agronomy 25(1): 136-145

In trials in 1975-7 with rice grown on a partially reclaimed sodic soil, Sesbania aculeata green manure increased the paddy yields, N, P and K contents in plants and their availability in soil. Yields with green manure + 40 kg N/ha were similar to those with 120 kg N/ha. Yields were further increased with 80 and 120 kg N/ha when applied in addition to green manure.
