Studies on the free amino acids in the developing seed parts and pod of certain legumes

, : Studies on the free amino acids in the developing seed parts and pod of certain legumes. Acta Botanica Indica 8(2): 196-200

Changes in free amino acids of the developing seed parts and pod were determined in Cicer arietinum, peas and Vicia faba at 15, 25, 35 and 45 days after anthesis. In seed coats there was a decline in levels of amino acids in the last phase of development. In pods, generally higher levels of amino acids were obtained initially and their levels also declined continuously with development.
