Over recent decades there has been much regrouping and reorganization in French agriculture, as producers realized the importance of links with the pre- and post-agricultural sectors. The S.I.C.A. mould seemed most easily adaptable to the interests of all concerned. S.I.C.A. are groups which allow farmers to act jointly with those outside farming, to provide services needed both by farming and the rural areas in general.
