Comparison of the N.J., C.D.C. and Ehrenberg bird trap in St. Georges, Delaware

, : Comparison of the N.J., C.D.C. and Ehrenberg bird trap in St. Georges, Delaware. Proceedings, Sixty Ninth Annual Meeting, New Jersey Mosquito Control Association, Inc Atlantic City, New Jersey, 17, 18, 19 March 1982:

A comparison of catches from a New Jersey light-trap, 2 CDC traps and an Ehrenberg bird trap using quail (Coturnix) as bait was made at 2 sites in the St. Georges area of Delaware. Using mosquitoes from the quail trap, species of Culex were identified as C. salinarius Coq. and a group of C. pipiens L. and C. restuans Theo. Twice as many mosquitoes were taken at 1 site as at the other. At one site, the proportion of mosquitoes in the genus Culex was 85.6% and at the other 86.6%.
