Contribution of algae to the nutrition of deepwater rice

, : Contribution of algae to the nutrition of deepwater rice. 1981 International Deepwater Rice Workshop: 201-214

One hundred and ninety-one species of algae were identified in rice and water samples from deepwater rice fields of Bangladesh and Mali. These were distributed among 6 divisions, which were dominated by Cyanophyta (blue-green algae), Chlorophyta (green algae), and Bacillariophyta (diatoms) in terms of biomass and species composition. Their habitats and some factors affecting their distribution are presented.
