Genetic variation and correlation of agronomic traits in tall fescue (Festuca arundinacea Schreb.) germplasm

, : Genetic variation and correlation of agronomic traits in tall fescue (Festuca arundinacea Schreb.) germplasm. Canadian Journal of Plant Science 63(2): 453-460

Highly significant differences were obtained for annual dry matter (ADM) yield, plant height, spreading ability, volume, first and second cut recovery, incidence of disease (mostly caused by Puccinia) and number of days to heading among 67 accessions during 1979 and 1980. ADM yield was positively correlated with all traits except disease incidence. Some accessions were superior to the control, Alta, in yield and winter hardiness.
