Off-farm milk sales in the Board's area during the year rose to 1184.4 million l. The number of dairy cows rose to 242 290 and av. yield/cow rose to 4973 l. The number of registered producers fell to 2769 and of producer-retailers to 213. Total liquid milk sales dropped to 507 585 000 l, of which 483 767 000 l were sold through the Board.
