, : Uptake of elemental mercury vapor by C3 and C4 species. Environmental and Experimental Botany 22(4): 437-443

Uptake of Hg vapour, measured in wheat Yamhill, Sawtell and Anja, oats, barley, maize Golden Bantam, sorghum, Digitaria sanguinalis and Panicum miliaceum, increased with vapour conc., increasing temp. and illumination. There was an inverse linear correlation between the logarithm of mesophyll resistance and vapour uptake. Stomatal and biochemical controls on uptake were demonstrated.
