A note on efficacy of complete v. partial boar exposure on puberty attainment in the gilt

, : A note on efficacy of complete v. partial boar exposure on puberty attainment in the gilt. Animal Production 39(1): 145-147

63 Large White X (British Landrace X Large White) gilts were allocated to 3 groups, and (1) were allowed boar contact for 20 h per day, (2) were allowed boar influence through a mesh pen division for 20 h per day, or (3) had no exposure to boars (controls). The experiment started when gilts averaged 156 days of age, and continued until either puberty was detected or 210 days of age was reached.
