Experimental determination of cestode eggs (Spirometra) from Canis aureus and Lynx lynx

, : Experimental determination of cestode eggs (Spirometra) from Canis aureus and Lynx lynx. Milu, Berlin 5(1/2): 245-251

Large numbers of Spirometra eggs were recovered from the faeces of a jackal and a lynx imported by the Berlin zoo (GDR) from the USSR. The exact location of the jackal was unknown, the lynx was caught in the Lake Baikal area. In vitro, coracidia hatched within 8 days (jackal) or 14 days (lynx) and when used to infect copepods of the Cyclops strenuus group, developed to procercoids in 2 weeks.
