Fruit production by two species of privet, Ligustrum sinense Lour. and L. lucidum W.T. Ait., in Sydney

, : Fruit production by two species of privet, Ligustrum sinense Lour. and L. lucidum W.T. Ait., in Sydney. Australian Weeds 2(4): 127-129

Fruit production by Ligustrum sinense and L. lucidum was studied at 58 sites in urban bushland in the N. suburbs of Sydney in 1978, and in a further 8 sites (L. sinense) in 1979. L. sinense produced 1300 fruits/msuperscript 2 of canopy while L. lucidum produced 400/msuperscript 2. Fruit production in both spp. was reduced with increasing shade and was lower on smaller diam. shoots of L. sinense.
