Harvesting wood for energy

, : Harvesting wood for energy. Research Paper, North Central Forest Experiment Station, USDA Forest Service (NC-200): ii + 25

Cost and productivity data are given for 5 harvesting systems which could be used to harvest wood for energy from broadleaf stands in Michigan: two mechanized thinning operations in pole-sized stands; one clear felling operation for conversion of the land to agricultural use; one clear felling operation for conversion to conifers; and recovery of tops and limbs following a saw log harvest.
