Heterogeneity of estrogen binding sites: relationship to estrogen receptors and estrogen responses

, : Heterogeneity of estrogen binding sites: relationship to estrogen receptors and estrogen responses. Recent Progress in Hormone Research 36: 89-134

A review, mainly of work on laboratory mammals, in which the mechanism of oestrogen binding is examined in relation to 2 types of oestrogen-binding site in the uterine cytosol, 2 types of oestrogen-binding site in uterine nuclei, the heterogeneity of nuclear binding sites, the relationship of type-I and type-II oestrogen-binding sites to uterine growth, and the effect of progesterone and dexamethasone on the 2 types of site.
