Impact cutting of soybeans using flexible cutting systems

, : Impact cutting of soybeans using flexible cutting systems. Transactions of the ASAE American Society of Agricultural Engineers 26(5): 1315-1319

Objectives of the study were: to measure the plant stem accelerations of soyabean plants and the harvest losses during impact cutting with flexible rotary blades and belt-mounted blades. Laboratory equipment and methods used to simulate a floating cutterbar configuration for comparison with the flexible blades are described; the blades were operated at a blade tip velocity of 65 m/s.
