Is summer wheat an alternative to winter wheat?

, : Is summer wheat an alternative to winter wheat?. Tagungsbericht, Akademie der Landwirtschaftswissenschaften der Deutschen Demokratischen Re ik (203): 21-28

In trials at 7 sites in the German Democratic Republic in 1970-81, spring wheat sown in March yielded 75-90% as much as winter wheat. Spring-sown barley and oats did not reach the yield potential of winter wheat. Nov.-sown winter wheat yielded c. 10% less than that sown in Oct., but it still outyielded spring cereals. Spring wheat sown in mid-Dec. or Jan. yielded more than winter wheat.
