, : Public health importance of camels' lung affections. Egyptian Journal of Veterinary Science 1983; 18(1/2): 109-119

Examination of lungs of 4020 dromedaries slaughtered at Cairo and Embaba abattoirs revealed 20 (0.49%) with pneumonia, 4 with tuberculosis-like lesions, and 700 (19.4%) with hydatid cysts (69.5% fertile). The most common isolates from the pneumonic lungs were Staphylococcus epidermidis, Micrococcus roseus, M. luteus, Streptococcus pyogenes, Str. pneumoniae, Staph. aureus, Micrococcus sp., Aerococcus viridans, and Klebsiella spp.
