Rapid production of broadleaved plants on fertilized peat. Microbiological problems caused by using the same peat for several years in succession

, : Rapid production of broadleaved plants on fertilized peat. Microbiological problems caused by using the same peat for several years in succession. Revue Forestiere Francaise 34(4): 314-326

Studies into the cause of poor development of beech seedlings on re-used peat showed that this was due to the development of the pathogenic fungi Pythium and Cylindrocarpon, which attack the root system of beech.
