Resistance of maize inbred lines to stalk rot (Fusarium graminearum) in early generations of selfing

, : Resistance of maize inbred lines to stalk rot (Fusarium graminearum) in early generations of selfing. Proceedings of the tenth meeting of the Maize and Sorghum Section of Eucarpia, 17-19 September 1979, Varna, Bulgaria: recd 1983; 206-214

Selection for resistance to F. graminearum was carried out in each of six generations of selfing after crossing susceptible NS1 (a local line of high combining ability) with ten local and foreign lines showing varying degrees of resistance. Inbreeding was most effective in progenies having higher frequencies of resistant genotypes in early generations.
