Studies on the life cycle of Hymenolepis ductilis Linton, 1927 and on the ultrastructure of its cysticercoid tegument

, : Studies on the life cycle of Hymenolepis ductilis Linton, 1927 and on the ultrastructure of its cysticercoid tegument. Acta Parasitologica Polonica, 294: 35-42

Cysticercoids found in naturally-infected gammarids (Gammarus oceanicus) were identified as Hymenolepis ductilis on the basis of rostellar hook shape, size and number. Gulls are known to harbour adult cestodes of this species in the same geographical location (Passamaquoddy Bay, N.B., Canada) and several gravid worms were collected from the small intestine of an infected herring gull (Larus argentatus).
