The boom of the air curtain sprayer consists of three 1.2 m long crossflow fans mounted end-to-end in individual frame units. Each unit is hinged and connected by a hydraulic cylinder to an adjacent frame. Within the outlet of each fan unit, 2 hydraulically powered CDA atomizer heads are mounted to incorporate the spray droplets into the airstream. The sprayer is built on a walking-beam tandem-axle trailer.
