Allelopathic effects of some plant extracts on the germination of tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Santa Cruz)

, : Allelopathic effects of some plant extracts on the germination of tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Santa Cruz). Planta Daninha 6(2): 79-85

Aqueous extracts of Cyperus rotundus tubers, roots of Sorghum halepense and Cynodon dactylon and leaves and roots of Canavalia ensiformis and Brassica napus were applied to Petri dishes containing tomato seeds. Undiluted extracts of C. rotundus and S. halepense completely inhibited germination; germination and growth of the radicle and hypoctyl were inhibited by C. dactylon.
