In a group of 85 laboratory guinea pigs the course of an outbreak of chlamydial "guinea pig inclusion conjunctivitis" (GPIC) accompanied by abortion, bronchopneumonia, rhinitis, and a mortality rate of 26%, was followed up. Diagnosis was by isolation of chlamydiae in cell cultures, as well as serologically by CF test and ELISA.
